CATS Service Information:
 
The CATS transportation program was established to provide the citizens of Covington County an easy-to-use, low-cost method of transportation.
CATS vans are equipped with wheelchair lifts in order to provide services to the elderly or disabled.
CATS services are available to all Covington County residents regardless of age and/or ability.  The system offers demand-response scheduled trips, curb to curb service, and transporting them to doctor appointments, nutritional sites, pharmacies, grocery and clothing stores, beauty/barber shops, work, and even social events.
Our goal is to provide high quality, cost-effective transportation services to all residents of Covington County, utilizing safe, courteous and responsible personnel.

Fares (Subject to Change):
 
Within City Limits               $2.00 per One-Way Trip 
Outside City Limits                 $3.50 per One-Way Trip
Within the County              $4.00 per One-Way Trip
Drivers Do Not Carry Cash.
Exact Fare is Required When Boarding.
CATS sells Punch Cards and Vouchers, Good Only Towards CATS rides. Please Contact CATS Office to Purchase.
 
General Policies:
  • Children under the age of 15, must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Parents must supply and install child safety seats.
  • Service animals are permitted. Please let Dispatch know when scheduling a ride.
  • Pets are required to be in a kennel.
  • Parcel are limited to what you can carry.
Driver(s) are NOT PERMITTED to:
  • Enter a residence or other buildings, for any reason(s).
  • Perform any personal care assistance to passengers, including but not limited to:
  • Assistance in dressing.
  • Physically lifting/carrying passenger(s) wheelchair up or down steps
How To Schedule a Ride:
  • Please Call (334) 428-2667
  • Have your name, address, phone number and address of destination ready to schedule.
  • All appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance (based on availability due to the schedule) and can be made only through Dispatch.
  • We will not accept scheduling a ride through voicemail or a CATS driver.
  • Cut off, to make appointments for the following day is at 3:00 PM.
  • Same day service is based on availability.
  •  Driver(s) can make one trip to front door to assist unloading groceries.
  • Driver(s) wait no longer than five (5) minutes past your scheduled pick-up time.
To Cancel a Ride:
  • Please call 334-428-2667. We do accept cancellations through voicemail.
  • No Show Policy: If a rider misses three (3) consecutive scheduled rides by not boarding the vehicle upon arrival and/or failing to cancel in a timely manner before the bus arrives, the rider will face a suspension of ten (10) business days following the third (3rd) consecutive no-show.
Handicap Accessibility:
 
MANUAL wheelchair passenger(s) that require more assistance than the curb to curb provided by the driver will be required to have an assistant to accompany them for transport.  All person(s) riding to assist wheelchair passengers ride free of charge. *

Advertising:
 
CATS provides local merchants with the opportunity to purchase advertising space on CATS vehicles.  Anyone interested in purchasing advertising should call 334-428-2667.
