Arena & Grounds Supervisor
 
The Covington County Commission is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Arena & Grounds
Supervisor. This is a full-time position.
 
Summary of Responsibilities:
 
The individual selected for this position will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Covington Center
Arena. This role requires availability for a demanding schedule, primarily on weekends, with occasional weekday work
depending on events. Overtime hours will be accrued as compensatory time.
 
The manager must be capable of supervising inmates to assist with routine duties, including picking them up from the
jail and returning them at the end of each workday. Additionally, the manager will be expected to adhere to all
guidelines established by the County Commission regarding facility operations. This includes, but is not limited to,
ensuring the collection of all required fees from parties utilizing the facility in any capacity.
 
Duties:
 
  • Prepare facility grounds for events and activities, including rodeos. Tasks may involve turning on lights, dragging 
         the arena, mucking stalls, operating equipment, cleaning the stands, and cleaning and stocking restrooms.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on building systems and equipment, including electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and more.
  • Maintain a daily inventory report, including counts of shavings, stalls, and recreational vehicles.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
 
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Be eligible for bonding to handle monetary transactions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform facility maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and structural repairs.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally with the public, handle criticism constructively,
  • and resolve challenging situations effectively.

Pay Range:
 
Pay will be based on qualifications and experience.

in Andalusia, Alabama. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays.
